IT'S A GO FOR CLAY COUNTY… to be included in this multi-state program. It will boost the tourism for our area and make aware the Civil War History that took place in our county and surrounding counties. The Civil War Trails is a multi-state program that identifies, interprets, and creates driving tours of both the great campaigns and the lesser-known Civil War sites. It began in Virginia and has now expanded to Maryland, North Carolina, West Virginia and Tennessee.
We have TENNESSEE CIVIL WAR TRAIL MAPS at the chamber office. Clay County will be included in the next printing and will soon be included on the website.
The Civil War Trails program is administered by a non-profit corporation and supported by local communities, state tourism offices, and state departments of transportation.
