Clay County Library News - May 11, 2012
The Clay County Library Board will meet this Wednesday, May 16, at 1:00 at the Clay County Library. The meeting is open to the public, but we will be unable to check material in or out during the meeting.
Teen Night will be Friday, May 25, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Supper will be potluck, so please bring a dish to pass.

Clay County Library News - April 20, 2012
The Clay County Library Board will meet on Wednesday, May 16, at 1:00. All are invited to attend the board meeting, which will be held at the library.
We would like to thank Winton Young, Tim Cody, Shane Neese, Lois Beasley, Martina Bias, and Linda York, as well as all the others who helped to make our Zombie Prom a success. More than 40 teens showed up in their frightful best to dance at the library. It has been brought to our attention that vampires, werewolves, and other creatures were left out of our Zombie Prom, so we will be planning a Monster Mash in the near future. All Clay County teens are invited to our next teen night, May 25, to plan this gathering.

The Clay County Library is holding free computer classes every Thursday at 10:00. These classes are open to everyone, and are absolutely free.

Clay County Library News - March 22, 2012
The Clay County Library will be hosting a Skype class this Saturday, from 10:00 until 11:00. Have you wanted to talk to someone out of state, or even out of the country, but don’t want to pay long distance phone calls? Do they have internet access? Come in and learn how you can talk to them for free.
The library will be closing early on Good Friday, April 6. We will open from 8:30 until 12:30, then be closed until Monday, April 9.

The Clay County Library will host Teen Night on February 24, beginning at 6:00.
Don’t forget the free computer classes every Thursday at 10:00. We are also looking into adding webcams to the laptops and having a class on learning to Skype. If you are interested in this, please let us know what day would be best to hold a class or make the laptops available for this.
The library has just received word that we will be receiving a grant to replace four of the patron computers. We hope these new systems will improve our services to our patrons.

Clay County Library News - January 27, 2012
The Clay County Library has completed inventory of all items that are here at the library. There are still over 2,000 that are checked out and overdue. We are asking that if you have anything overdue from the library, please return it so that other people may enjoy them. To assist you in returning these items, which cost Clay County over $41,000, we are granting amnesty for the month of February. Bring in your books, movies, books on tape, and there will be no overdue fines charged.
The library will be closed on Monday, February 20, for Presidents Day.

The Clay County Library Board will meet on Wednesday, January 25.
There will be another computer class Thursday, January 19, at 10:00. These classes are limited to the first six people, and will be based on the level of need of people who attend.

The Clay County Library will be closed for the rest of this week to complete inventory. We will reopen Tuesday, December 27 at our normal time of 8:30.
The library will host Teen Night on December 30, beginning at 6:00. The teens have voted to play “Dirty Santa”, so if you would like to participate, please bring a wrapped gift that cost between $5 and $10.

Clay County Library News - November 3, 2011
The Clay County Library will be closed this Friday, November 11, for Veteran’s Day. Please take a moment to think about those who serve to protect our freedom.
This Saturday, November 12, is National Gaming Day. The library has several board games, and will make them available on Saturday from 9:00 until 1:00 for people to come in and try out. The Friends of the Library will provide cookies and hot chocolate for all who want to play.

American Legion Clay County Post 18, under Post Commander John Teeples, thanks Clay County for the wonderful community support for our First Annual Veterans Day Display, and the understanding for missing names. Last year we planned to put small flags on veteran’s graves in Clay County. But with over 270 cemeteries in the county, and some far from the beaten path, the recognition for those veterans might have gone unnoticed by most everyone. So we decided to bring the names together at our County Seat.
